Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

March 1, 2008

Every now and then, I wonder what happened to some of my youth idols. Fortunately, we have Google today!

If you were born in the late 70’s, you probably remember this amazing basketball player.

Considered the greatest player of all times (yes, even better than Michael Jordan), Jabbar got famous for his sky hook movement that turned him NBA’s all-time leading scorer with 38.387 points.

He got retired as professional basketball player in 1989 but kept himself in the game: led a university league team to a championship; since 2005, is special assistant with his all time team, the Los Angeles Lakers; wrote several history (another passion) books; and, most important, is an invited blogger on the LA Times.

Great memories!

  1. That’s pathetic that you would ever say that Kareem was a better basketball player than Michael Jordan. He was great but Jordan was hands down the greatest to ever paly the game.
